Rep. Johnson receives Chamber’s Lincoln Leadership for America Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced today that he is the recipient of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America award.

The Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award recognizes members of Congress from both sides of the aisle who in their actions have demonstrated the leadership critical to advancing policies that support America’s small businesses and entrepreneurs.

“I am happy to accept this award, and pledge to continue fighting for good fiscal policy that lifts everyone up not just the privileged few,” said Rep. Johnson. “President Lincoln once said: don’t worry when you are not recognized but strive to be worthy of recognition. I appreciate this recognition, and I consider it an honor to continue to do the work for Georgia’s Fourth Congressional District.”

The U.S. Chamber award recognizes Members of Congress who demonstrate the bipartisan leadership and constructive governing necessary to move our country forward.

“Now more than ever, our nation needs elected leaders with the courage to pursue common ground and bold, bipartisan solutions to America’s greatest challenges,” said U.S. Chamber President Suzanne Clark. “These awards honor the deserving members of Congress that are forging common-sense sense solutions, working across the aisle, to enact lasting and meaningful reforms. In the days ahead, Congress must work together and support our nation’s free enterprise principles that will help bring our economy back to strength and put our people back to work.”

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing the interests of more than three million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.
