Rep. Johnson Continues Work Lifting People Out of Poverty and Onto a Path to Prosperity

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced he received a 100 percent score from NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice for his 2019 voting record.

NETWORK Lobby’s 2020 “Mend the Gap” agenda is focused on shrinking income inequality and the racial wealth gap through progressive tax policy, living wages and the adoption of family friendly work policies as well as ensuring people have access to healthcare, housing, democracy, and citizenship.

In 2019, the House passed a significant number of bills aimed at mending the gaps in our nation, including the For the People Act, Paycheck Fairness Act, Equality Act, Dream & Promise Act, the SAFE Act and Farm Workforce Modernization, among others – all of which Congressman Johnson supported.

“Working diligently for employment rights, reducing drug prices, protecting Dreamers, eliminating income inequality, fighting for criminal justice reform and securing our democracy have been at the core of my mission in Congress,” said Johnson. “Communities thrive when people have access to good jobs with living wages, affordable healthcare, safe housing, quality food, and representation in our government.”
