LITHONIA, GA – Today, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced he is offering himself for election to serve in Congress for another term.

“I want to thank the people of Georgia’s 4th Congressional District for entrusting me with the honor of representing them in the U.S. House of Representatives,” he said. “Having served during the terms of three presidents, I am committed now more than ever to public service. Because of the daunting challenges we face as a nation, I want to continue working to bring people together to get things done in Congress for my constituents and the American people.”

“I will to continue the fight to protect and improve access to affordable health care for all while supporting policies that provide a better deal for the hard-working people of America, who deserve a fair and livable wage. I will continue to fight for adequate resources for public education, affordable college and a robust vocational training system that prepares young people and adults for the jobs of the 21st century. I am asking to send me back to Congress to continue my work on these and other critical issues that face our communities, our state and nation.”

Rep. Johnson is a senior member of both the Judiciary and the Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) Committees, where he is top Democrat on the T&I Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management. The subcommittee oversees the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and is also responsible for programs promoting economic development in communities suffering economic distress.

Georgia’s Fourth Congressional District encompasses parts of DeKalb, Gwinnett and Newton counties and all of Rockdale County.
